Focusing on worshipping God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Wesleyan Church of Uganda is indeed growing. New congregations are starting in villages across Uganda, bringing hope to many. As new communities of faith begin, they worship under a tree, in a store front building or put up poles packed with mud for a shelter. These structures are temporary at best and Bishop Lucas Hamirie challenges congregations to start making bricks for a permanent structure. Financial assistance is needed to complete the building and put on the roof. FOCUS on Uganda has assisted several congregations in the past few years.
Dedicated pastors, trained through the Wesleyan Bible Institute, serve these congregations with little or no financial support. They must seek other employment to feed and educate their families. These pastors serve tirelessly in very difficult situations with many challenges to their families and their churches.
